Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An elegant glass cup that rests on a slightly concave base and swells upward with wheel cut lines that encircle the exterior body's midsection and near the wide mouth. The vessel boasts translucent walls; a property highly prized by ancient Romans in glass objects. A delicate cup used for dining in ancient Rome! Size: 2.8" W x 3.125" H (7.1 cm x 7.9 cm)

Old inventory label on side. Minor stress fissure from imbedded encrustation. Nicks to rim and minor surface weathering. Translucent with some bubbles integral to the glass matrix.
