Condition
Condition: THE FIRST The overall condition is good with the following: Fading/Color Change: Soiling/Spots: There is soiling under each of the arms and throughout the lining. Smaller spots are noticeable throughout the exterior bodice, mostly along the front neckline and left sleeve near the flounce in the pleating. Repairs/Alterations: The interior neckline and sleeve flounces have broken tacks that could suggest this bodice once had additional material attached. The side back princess seam lines appear to have been altered to fit a larger size. THE SECOND The overall condition is good with the following: Structural Issues: The front inset taffeta is starting to split on the front opening and the buttons are loosing their outer finishing stitched revealing the metal rings beneath. The net along the neckline is crushed and matted together. Fading/Color Change: There is some overall darkening to the front inset panel and throughout the inner lining. Soiling/Spots: There are several small spots throughout the bodice, internally and externally, most noticeable on the front right waist. Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use. The absence of any reference to the condition of a lot does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. All other condition issues are stated above. To request additional working condition photos, please email couturecr@hindmanauctions.com with the lot number. Condition is a matter of opinion of the evaluator and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Clients must review and agree to the Conditions of Sale before participating in an auction.
