Description
Authentic Vintage John F. Kennedy Street Sign from France, mid-1960s
Original heavy steel street sign, 23.5" x 9.75", France, circa mid-1960s. A royal blue sign with "Boulevard Du Président John F. Kennedy", in white lettering. After the death of John F. Kennedy, many foreign countries around the world renamed streets to honor the slain American President. France was one of the first to do so, and at present there are 31 streets in the country that have been thus renamed. The sign is accompanied by a museum text display, measuring 7" x 7", that states the sign "came from a street corner in Paris, France." It is possible that since the removal of this sign, the street has been renamed, as no listing of a "Boulevard Du Président John F. Kennedy" can be found as a current memorial street to President Kennedy.
Light wear and scratching to the sign, with slight rusting at the corners and four screw holes. A popular and impressive collectible relating directly to the world's recognition and grief for the passing of America's 35th president. From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
