Ithaca and New York: Cornell University Press, 1948. First edition. 8vo. 323 pp. Edited by Don M. Wolfe. Inscribed: "To Ben C. Toledano/William Styron/New Orleans/Nov. 68" on title-page. Original slate gray cloth, stamped in blue; in original unclipped dust-jacket.

Styron's short sketch, "A Moment in Trieste", was one of his earliest appeareances in print, aged 23, three years before his debut novel, "Lie Down in Darkness" appeared.
