Description
Sarong made from two strips of fabric with indigo and red cotton warps, sewn together along selvage edges. On each end there are red silk wefts with stripes of continuous and discontinuous supplementary weft inlay with metal wrapped thread. Medium: silk, metal wrapped thread; supplementary weft inlay, Indonesia, 1775-1825. Provenance: The Roger Hollander Collection. Size: 108'' x 34'', (274 x 86 cm).
