Description
South Pacific, Papua New Guinea, Kambanimbit Village, Sepik River, ca. 3rd quarter of the 20th century CE. Very attractive and unusual fiber and bark abstract figure - probably representing a figure in a full body mask. Adorned with cowrie shells, raised mud and shell eyes, and black pigment. Similar in form to some of the full body suits we have handled used in various dance ceremonies. Size: 11" L x 11" W x 18" H (27.9 cm x 27.9 cm x 45.7 cm)
