Excerpts include: "The first Emigrants having remaining at Sierra Leone until arrangements could be completed for their Settlement, arrived at the Colony in he Month of June 1822"; "To the United States it will cost us but little reflection and argument to show that the great Design of African Colonization is a subject of deepest National Interest. By the Census of 1830, the White population of our Country was 110, 530,000, the Colored population , 2,328,000. Of the Colored population, 2,009,000 are Slaves, 319,000 free blacks".
