The thing I like most about Simpson Galleries is that you have had special antiques from Vietnam.

They need to find a new shipper, the UPS store they are using seems to be overwhelmed by handling auction items and is extremely inefficient. When the item I purchased finally arrived it was broken because of their poor packaging. i realize that is not the auction house's fault but I would not buy from this auction again because of the poor handling by their shipper.

The second co that i finally used was the best choice. The first contact I made was a bunch of kids who had no business sense or interest, and knowledge on how to handle the delivery.

Very professional group of people who treat customers great.

I had someone pick up my auction item because of the shipping expense. However, I was charged the full Texas sales tax since it wasn't shipped to me. This didn't seem really fair. I am not sure if this is a TX law or a Simpson Gallery rule.

The auction house lied about damage and kept giving me the wrong dimensions of the painting. They wouldn't even call me back after numerous messages. I would beware of this auction house. I deal many auction houses across the world and this is by far the worst if drop with. who would want to buy from a place that lies and doesn't call back and will not send you specific pictures.

Some important auction houses take care of the shipping in their premises (James D. Julia; Rago Arts, etc.). Not in this case and the experience with shipping was awful, delayed and very expensive for what I purchased. I am still waiting for the piece to be shipped and I paid for the piece immediately. I was not pleased at all.

The auction house did not recommend enough alternative shippers to get a competitive quote and the shipper they use turned out to be not very good. Will probably not purchase from Simpson Galleries again.
