Folk Art Auctions is an auction house located in Macon, Georgia catering to self-taught art. The owner/auctioneer, Dennis Voigt, has been an enthusiastic collector for 20 years. He has attended several auctions and numerous events catering to self-taught art.
His passion has grown exponentially throughout the years as he has met with several artists and have listened to their enriched stories about their art. He has accepted several artists that he has met along the way as dear friends and family. The preservation of the stories that come along with the art is important and he would like to ensure that those stories stay alive and documented. The interaction with other collectors that share a similar passion has been extremely important, as knowledge sharing has been key to learning about the many artists that are no longer with us and ensuring that those stories are passed on.
He has now set out to fulfill a dream of curating and providing an accessible marketplace for folk art enthusiasts like himself. That dream will expand to other projects in the future involving a museum, to preserve the past, and a gallery, to highlight the present and past, located in central Georgia.
Folk Art Auctions is currently online only, hosted by LiveAuctioneers, as we are searching for a commercial piece of real estate so that we can host live auctions soon. The gathering of art enthusiasts is important to us and we look forward to hosting live events.

Fall Folk Art Auction
Folk Art Auctions is proud to present its highly anticipated Fall Auction, featuring works from 22 distinguished collections from across the United States. Highlights include selected pieces from the Bill Arnett Collection and the Micki Beth Stiller Collection. Also, back by popular demand are more items from a large collection out of Florida from a 90-year-old collector focusing on older traditional folk art. This event will offer 460 lots, showcasing rare and important examples of self-taught contemporary art along with earlier traditional folk art selections. Among the highlights are ten early Eddy Mumma paintings direct from the Bill Arnett Collection. The net proceeds from those paintings will benefit the Tinwood Foundation, which promotes the understanding and appreciation of Black art, and culture of the American South. Those paintings will be presented alongside other works by renowned artists such as Mose and Annie Tolliver, Jimmy Lee Sudduth, R.A Miller, Lonnie Holley, and many others. The auction will be hosted live on LiveAuctioneers, with in-house shipping available for most items, ensuring accessibility for collectors worldwide. A discounted buyer's premium will be offered for those who choose to leave an absentee bid with Folk Art Auctions prior to the auction (see our website for details). awesome service and items
This was my first purchase from this auction house. I have to say everything was top-notch. The items were as described, and I'm very happy with the purchases. Dennis, the owner, was able to answer any questions I had about the items and has a tremendous knowledge of the material he is selling. I was able to pick up my purchases in North Carolina, as we were attending a stoneware festival there. This was above and beyond. I will be watching for his next auction as he was able to gather such great, fresh to the market outsider and folk art, along with some awesome stoneware and pottery.
