About Stag Auctions Stag Auctions are fine art dealers and auctioneers, based in the Cotswolds, England. Established in 1989, the firm has developed a longstanding reputation for sourcing and selling original paintings across a broad range of periods and styles. We deal in Old Masters, British, Continental, and Sporting Art ranging from the 16th - late 20th century and hold one of the largest inventories of original and antique paintings in Europe. Our works are acquired through longstanding relationships within the trade throughout Europe and are sold to an international clientele, including private collectors, interior designers, and the wider art trade. Our auctions primarily comprise paintings from our own stock. This allows us to present sales with a consistent level of quality and a clear sense of style. Particular emphasis is placed on works associated with the â??English Country Houseâ?? tradition, including portraits, sporting and animal paintings, landscapes, and scenes of the British countryside and Scottish Highlands. In addition, we maintain a substantial selection of 19th and 20th century French paintings, including Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and later works, which feature regularly within our catalogues. Alongside our role as dealers, we also accept a limited number of consignments from private clients and the trade. Such works are carefully selected to ensure they are in keeping with the character and standard of our sales.
