As early as the 4th century B.C., the first diamonds were discovered in India and soon people began collecting and trading them. The origin of the word diamond is the Greek word Adamas, which means invincible. The diamond is composed of transparent carbon, thus in its natural state is translucent and even opaque. Mostly, this beautiful gem is used in jewelry in various colors, designs and cuts. The way diamonds are structured and cut in cubic forms is what makes them special and valuable. Diamonds are usually carved on various ring styles and metals such as gold, silver, platinu
