James Clark McReynolds (1862–1946) was an American attorney and jurist who served as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1914 to 1941. Appointed by President Woodrow Wilson, McReynolds previously served as Attorney General of the United States from 1913 to 1914.

During his 26 years on the Supreme Court, McReynolds became one of the Court's most outspoken conservative members. He was one of the four justices collectively known as the "Four Horsemen," alongside Willis Van Devanter, George Sutherland, and Pierce Butler. The group frequently opposed President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal legislation, arguing that many federal economic regulations exceeded constitutional limits.

McReynolds participated in numerous significant constitutional decisions concerning federal authority, property rights, and individual liberties. He authored the majority opinion in Meyer v. Nebraska (1923), an important early decision recognizing constitutional protections for parental and educational liberty under the Fourteenth Amendment.

Known for his uncompromising judicial philosophy and frequently contentious relationships with fellow justices, McReynolds retired from the Supreme Court in 1941 and was succeeded by James F. Byrnes.
