Measure approximately 18D x 14H In good condition with wear commensurate with age. Woodcut print titled "The Rhinoceros," based on the famous 1515 composition by German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer, with the designation "Marque de Martin." The artwork depicts a rhinoceros with elaborate armor-like skin, intricate detailing, and a distinctive horn, reflecting the imaginative interpretation of the animal during the early 16th century. Dürer's original composition became one of the most celebrated animal illustrations of the Renaissance, despite the artist never having seen a living rhinoceros. An interesting example of historic European printmaking imagery, representing one of the most recognizable works associated with Renaissance woodcut art. RH50562
