Demjansk Shield, sewn onto original wool backing, commemorates German troops who fought in the Demyansk pocket (Feb 1942-Apr 1943) on the Eastern Front. Issued to Heer, SS, and supporting units, it honors their endurance and bravery during the 14-month siege, where over 100,000 troops were encircled by Soviet forces. A historically significant and collectible example.
