
Description
(1894 - 1946) Nazi chief of slave labor recruitment who seized over five million workers and kept them under the vilest conditions. Tried, convicted and hanged at Nuremburg. T.L.S. on his official letterhead as Gauleiter of Thuringia, 1p. large 4to., Weimar, Dec. 5, 1939 to ALBERT BORMANN (1902-1989), adjutant to Adolf Hitler and the younger brother of Martin Bormann. Sauckel had written and published a propaganda broadside in 1930 and at that time dispersed it to citizens in Thuringia. He mentions that the writing contained some of Hitler's proclamations and was of historical importance. He sends a copy to Bormann and asks that it be given to Hitler at a commemorative event and further notes that he had been given permission by Hitler to send him a telegram on the same day.
