Description:
Official correspondence between GPO Headquarters London, The Postmaster, St. Helena and the Government Secretary, St. Helena regarding a proposed Exhibition during the impending 1937 Coronation celebrations. The goal was to obtain photographs on the theme 'How the Post office links the Empire". This was of course at the time of King Edward VIII's proposed coronation. In the event, the King abdicated two weeks later and the coronation was for George VI. Five photographs was obtained for the proposed exhibition showing mail being off loaded from London by the "Dumbar Castle".
