Frame: 15 3/4" x 27 1/4". Washington note: 7 1/4" x 5 1/8". Krevell portrait: 7 1/2" x 5 1/2". Dali portrait: 7 1/2" x 5 1/2". Collection of ephemera. To the center, a document signed by George Washington, Richardson Stuart, John Fitzgerald, George Gilpin, and Patrick Todd authorizing payment of a medical bill (amputation) submitted by surgeon Edward Tiffin on behalf of Patrick Todd. Dated 1787-88. To the left, a portrait of George Washington signed by G. Krevell. To the right, a portrait of George Washington signed by Salvador Dali, edition 91/125. The reverse of the frame with a typewritten transcript of the signed letter and a window to view the reverse of the letter. Provenance: Sotheby's "Books and Manuscripts" auction, December 2013.
