Description
Traditional horse-drawn wagons like this one were first developed around 1810 in France. They were soon adopted by showmen traveling with fairs and circuses, serving as mobile homes. Around 1850, the Romani people began living in such wagons, which thereafter became known as "Gypsy Wagons." This faithful replica was built circa 2018 by P. Schuermans in the Netherlands. In the early 20th century, when P. Schuermans' father was still alive, the Schuermans family built, maintained, and repaired various Gypsy Wagons. This particular wagon features the traditional white wooden slats on the exterior and a partition wall with sliding doors separating the living room from the bedroom. Bedroom dimensions: 210 cm high 200 cm wide 170 cm long; Living room dimensions: 210 cm high 200 cm wide 318 cm long. It includes the iconic raised roof with windows on both sides-commonly referred to as the "cuckoo" roof. The windows in both the living room and bedroom can be opened in a tilt position. A fuse box is located in the bedroom, supplying power to various points throughout the wagon. There are double doors on both sides, which can be fully opened and are equipped with locks. The wagon also features windows on all sides, along with dedicated sleeping and storage compartments. The Gypsy Wagon is in excellent condition - a rare find. It comes with a Dutch vehicle registration, license plate, and all necessary documentation. Weight approx. 1800 kg. Dimensions (H x W x D): 290 x 225 x 600 cm. Condition: Excellent. Location: The Netherlands. Video link: youtu.be/TlMeo6g2ctQ
