Description
This jade dancer from the Han Dynasty is in the shape of standing sideways, with long sleeves stretched out, one arm raised above the head, and one arm hanging down. The clothes are flowing, which vividly reproduces the classic dance posture of the Han Dynasty of "rolling up the sleeves and bending the waist."The body of the vessel is carved from Hetian green and white jade. The jade is warm and delicate in texture. Partially exposed to the influence of Qin, it appears yellowish brown and dark brown mottled. The patina is simple and thick, showing the accumulation of two thousand years of time. The dancer's hair is combed into a high bun, her face is plump, her facial features are outlined with extremely fine gossamer hair carvings, and her expression is calm and elegant. Wearing a deep garment with cross-collar and right hem, the lines of the garment are smooth and natural, using the typical Han Dynasty technique of "Han Badao" combined with Yinxian incised.
