Sager Transparo black/bronze marble fountain pen/pencil combination with desk taper. The Sager pen company of Chicago produced high quality pens in the 1920's and 30's and later made many economy pens into the 1940's. They joined up with Grieshaber in approximately 1929 to form the Sager pen corporation where they used many of the same pens but separately branded. This example was part of Sager’s Barrel-O-Ink Sackless line where they advertised that the pen would hold more ink than standard pens and without the use of an ink sac. Large black/bronze streamlined combo with Sager Transparo Sackless 14K fine nib (tipping missing on one tine). This example could become a desk pen with matching celluloid taper that could be threaded on when the pencil end was removed. Length 5 7/8" and 6" posted, filling mechanism vacuum fill. Overall fair condition, one small crack to cap and some shrinkage below barrel threads.
