A Safavid tinned-copper bowl Persia, late 17th Century of deep rounded form on a short splayed foot with everted rim, engraved and decorated to body with radiating palmettes on a ground of floral scrollwork, the lower body with a frieze of hanging trilobed motifs, the rim with a band of inscriptions in nasta'liq on a ground of floral motifs 29.5 cm. diam. Footnotes: Inscriptions: below rim, the call to God to bless the Twelve Imams; to lobed cartouche, possibly, 'Its owner, Husayn ibn Na'im (?) ...'.
