A large Qajar lacquer papier-mâché box depicting Fath 'Ali Shah and scenes from Yusuf and Zulaykha Persia, 19th Century of rectangular form on four feet, the lid with curved sides, decorated in polychrome and gilt with Fath 'Ali Shah, his sons and courtiers on a hunting expedition to the sides and lid, the lid interspersed with a series of cartouches with figures, interior of lid with scenes from Jami's Yusuf and Zulaykha, the base with black floral sprays on red ground 42.5 x 29.8 x 21 cm.
