An Indo-portuguese embroidered cotton coverlet (colcha) Gujarat, 16th/ 17th Century of rectangular form, the natural ground embroidered in orange and yellow silk with a central panel containing a roundel filled with floral interlace, surrounding spandrels with scrolling floral vines and perching birds, the borders decorated ensuite, backed 194 x 266 cm.
