SASSOON (SIEGFRIED) Autograph manuscript of his poem titled 'The London Museum', signed ('Siegfried Sassoon'), 24 lines in five irregular stanzas, beginning 'ANTIQUARIANS, filling their noses/ With the aromatic dust of some episode in History...' and ending '...To watch the young Heir to the Throne step into his hushed Rolls Royce./ And I wonder, are they wiser than the antiquarians?...', on lined paper, the printer's copy (marked with instructions in the upper left-hand corner), one page, dust-staining and marks, creased, tear to lower edge repaired on reverse with old paper tape, 4to (206 x 170mm.), [n.p., n.d. but 1922] Footnotes: The present manuscript differs in three respects from the published version: in the first stanza it has 'labelled' for 'catalogued'; in the fourth line of the fourth stanza it has 'of' for 'with'; and the last word of the final stanza of the poem begins with a lower-case letter, not a capital.
