This cabinet (with brass handles) can be seen in a photograph of Terence Stamp in his apartment at The Albany taken by Terry O'Neill. Please see Lot 34. It is believed that this cabinet may have been sourced by the English Decorator Geoffrey Bennison. Terence Stamp met Geoffrey Bennison in 1960s London, when Stamp's acting career was beginning to soar. Bennison decorated Stamp's homes and introduced him to the world of antiques, textiles, and art collecting. Their relationship became a lasting friendship as well as a creative mentorship. Before meeting Bennison, Stamp had little knowledge of antiques or interiors. Bennison taught him to collect instinctively - choosing objects for beauty, atmosphere, and character rather than status or investment value. Through him, Stamp developed a deep appreciation for decorative arts and eventually built an important collection of his own. Stamp later said: 'Bennison taught me to allow my eye to draw on whatever there was in a piece.'
