While living in India and searching for deeper meaning, he encountered the writings and teachings of the Sufi tradition, particularly through the works of the philosopher and mystic Idries Shah. Stamp later described Sufism as transformative, saying it helped him find balance, discipline, and a new understanding of himself beyond celebrity and material success. His interest in spirituality became a lasting part of his life and strongly influenced his outlook, relationships, and later memoir writing. Provenance: From The Terence Stamp Collection.
