Terence Stamp: Two Linocuts and a letter from Oliver Hoare, 2016-2017, Comprising: a Christmas linocut print titled 'The Fourth King: Separated and Irradicated', inscribed To Terence, Happy Christmas / 16th December 2016 OH, bearing Oliver Hoare's monogram, printed on rag paper and housed within a folded cream card, and then within an envelope, secured to which is another print with the monogram 'TS', unsigned and undated, but secured with tape; a further linocut print depicting a dog, printed in blue ink, monogrammed and inscribed in red ink, on Japan paper, To Terence / OH / 08.12.17; together with an accompanying Christmas letter dated 8 December 2017, containing personal updates and references to an exhibition hosted by Oliver Hoare at Cromwell Place, including the comment on living there: Things flow in, and things flow out, it's great, written on the back of a photograph of two dogs, (3) Footnotes: The late dealer and collector Oliver Hoare was also a talented maker of linocut prints, examples of which appeared in the 2019 sale of The Oliver Hoare Collection at Christie's. The present works, however, were not produced as part of an edition, but were personally sent to Terence Stamp as Christmas greetings, reflecting the close friendship between the two men.
