David Bowie: Original Album Artwork For Pin Ups, 1973, paste-up artwork for the back cover on board, with track lists and text reproduced from Bowie's handwritten originals, RCA logo and Bowie photographs all laid down, taped overlay, trim marks and faded annotations, overall 19in x 19in (48cm x 48cm) Footnotes: Released in October 1973, Pin Ups, was an album of covers of songs by bands who had influenced Bowie in the 60s, including The Who, Pink Floyd, The Yardbirds and The Pretty Things. The album topped the UK chart and the single from it, Sorrow, originally by The Merseys, got to No.3. The album artwork for Pinups included Justin de Villeneuve's front cover photograph of Bowie and Twiggy, of which Pierre Laroche did the makeup masks for Twiggy and Bowie.
