In 2012, music webzine Gigwise included this cover in its list of Greatest Album Artwork Of All Time and reviewer Holly Frith said of it: 'Despite the arguable quality of their music, Marillion most certainly give a shit about their album artwork and this multi-tiered image of a young man suffering an apparent overdose is their most startling, brilliant and thought-provoking.' An illustrator particularly known for his masterful airbrush technique, Mark Wilkinson came to prominence in the 1980s through his cover artworks for Marillion and other bands, such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
