A grey skirt and capelet, when Geillis first meets Claire Season 1, Episode 2, 'Castle Leoch' Comprising: a custom-made grey and blue double fabric felted wool shawl, with tag inscribed '6.Geillis'; with matching mitts; cream leather bodice; and a cross weave grey skirt, showing signs of deliberate wear at the hem, (4) Footnotes: This is the costume in which Geillis meets Claire for the first time, and they discuss the powers of various plants for poisons, curing bleeding and other ailments. Geillis says 'They say I'm a witch...' wearing this costume to Claire, which foreshadows the witch trials that occur later in the season. Terry Dresbach explained that the capelet had a hole in the back. It was supposed to be worn with her head through the hole, but Verbeek said that 'Geillis wouldn't care of such things'. As it was Geillis' costume, Dresbach selected unconventional materials, to allude to the sense of her being from another time. This is the only version of this distinctive Geillis costume.
