A Rare Benjamin Harrison White House 'Russian Pattern' Goblet. Brooklyn, NY, and White Mills, PA: Dorflinger Glass Company, ca 1889. American brilliant-period cut glass, attributed to Dorflinger Glass Company, produced for the administration of Benjamin Harrison. The goblet of elegant Russian-pattern form, richly decorated overall in brilliant cut-style motifs, the bowl centered with a shield-shaped panel finely engraved with an American eagle and shield. Raised on a cut stem and foot, retaining the original Dorflinger paper label. (Tiny 3/4 x 1/4 in. re-glued chip to the rim accompanied by a small associated flake.) Height: 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm) An exceptionally rare and historically significant example of presidential glassware from the Harrison administration, notable for its refined engraving, distinguished provenance, and surviving Dorflinger label.
