The image was included in Volume III of The North American Indian, which described: 'Born on the Missouri below Williston, North Dakota. When he was 14 he followed a war-party but gained no honors. On his next four Expeditions he had as little success, but on the next he killed a Sioux. He fought against the Piegan, killing two, taking a scalp and counting a first coup. In another battle with the Piegan he killed one, counted coup and took a scalp. He married at seventeen.' Lot to be sold without reserve.
