Ink and wash drawing on dark olive paper, highlighted in white gouache; made preliminary to preparing the printing plate for the First Suite. Signed and dated by the artist twice, in both upper and lower margins. Archivally framed (frame measures 590 x 493 mm.). See Fitch-Febvrel 165. The drawing is a mirror image of the final print.
