Description: Rare George III Mother of Pearl Hafted Double Duty Silver Bladed Folding Fruit Knife.
The mother of pearl handle is plain, and the knife has a large gadrooned sleeve bolster.
The Knife dates to around 1797, when the Double Punch of the George III was used for 9 months of the year in 1797 to represent the Doubling of Tax on Silver.
Length open is 5.5 Inches.
Condition: Good. There is a hairline crack to the front of the mother of pearl handle.
