A SLIP-DECORATED SGRAFFIATO PEONY PILLOW AND AN INCISED LINEAR DESIGN PILLOW Northern Song Dynasty The sgraffiato pillow of slender kidney-bean form, carved to the surface with a large peony bloom issuing from a leafy stem, covered in an ivory white slip; the second pillow of ingot form, carved to the sides with geometric, combed and foliate pattern panels, the upper surface and short sides with swirling designs, also covered in an ivory-hued slip.
