A striking decorative patinated bronze figure depicting a semi-clad female entwined with a serpent, executed in the elegant and theatrical Art Deco taste.
The figure is modelled standing in graceful contrapposto with one arm dramatically raised, the serpent coiling sinuously around her shoulders and arm.
Her elongated form, stylised features and flowing drapery lend the piece a strong sculptural presence characteristic of continental decorative sculpture of the interwar period.
Mounted upon a circular variegated marble plinth with engraved title plaque reading “Woman with Serpent – By Boije”.
