A REGENCY MAHOGANY CONCERTINA ACTION EXTENDING DINING TABLE
IN THE MANNER OF GILLOWS, CIRCA 1825
With three original additional leaves, one end with a fixed hinged leaf, on reeded tapered turned legs and castors
73cm high, 258cm long (fully extended), 126.5cm wide
Condition Report:
The timber with inevitable scratches, marks, wear and discolouration. Some old staining to the polished surface. A few minor splits along the grain. The hinged leaf has two small triangular sections of repair to the underside of each corner which are only visible when the leaf is hinged over when the table is 'closed' and not visible when the leaf is 'open'. There is a fixed section of the top leaf centrally located that has a gap between it and the other fixed end leaf. This leaf has a split along its grain approx 12 cm long. The quality of the mahogany used on the table is good.
There are brass clips to secure the leaves in place. The casters are all present and secure. The mechanism and the brass hinges all work well and are in tact. The brass is tarnished.
