In January 1984, a fight between English fighter Tom Spring and Irish fighter Paddy Langan drew in more than 30,000 spectators. The fight lasted two and a half hours, over 70 rounds, which Spring won. Six months later, they fought again and Spring won in 76 rounds. Spring then retired shortly after.
