A Roman aubergine and white marbled glass bottle Circa 1st Century A.D. 10.5cm high Footnotes: Provenance: with Antiquarium Limited, New York, 2001. Acquired by the present owner from above on 29 October 2019. Such vessels would have been used for expensive perfumed oils and the narrow neck served to protect the precious liquid from the air, and from spilling. For the form see S. B.
