A Roman terracotta disc from a North African lamp moulded with the martyrdom of St Thecla Circa 4th-6th Century A.D. 9cm diam. Footnotes: Provenance: with the Temple Gallery, London. Property from a Distinguished Family Collection, acquired from the above on 22 July 1992. Among her trials, Saint Thecla escaped martyrdom by wild animals, with the lionesses protecting her against the male beasts.
