Moya Elizabeth Llewelyn Davies born O'Connor, (1881-1943), was a Gaelic scholar, an activist for Irish independence and collaborated with Michael Collins. Born in Ireland into a Fanian family, she moved to London in 1899 and worked in the British civil service. In 1910 she married Crompton Llewelyn Davies, a barrister. His brother, Arthur was friends with Charles Barry and it was Arthurs children who inspired Barrie to write the childrens classic 'Peter Pan'. When the Irish war of independence started, Moya and her two children moved back to Ireland and bought Furry Park, Killester, near Dublin. Their home was known as a safe house for Michael Collins, whom she had met in London when he was a Sinn Fain MP, while her husband passed information that he obtained from his connections with the British establishment. She was imprisoned and she and her husband were deported back to Britain in 1920. There were rumours that she had an affair with Collins, but it is much disputed, but by all accounts she did help him write his autobiography 'The Path to Freedom'. The United Committee for the Taxation of Land Values was founded in 1907 as a branch of the English League for the Taxation of Land Values, a land reform group.
