A early 19th century French patinated and gilt bronze clock, ca. 28 cm. h. Le Sieur, Paris The case designed in the form of a classical Roman oil lamp, surmounted by a winged putto leaning forward to light a flame from a central brazier, the figure balanced upon the scrolled handle of the oil lamp body, the opposing end issuing a stylised ormolu eternal flame, terminating in a simple base and resting on four gilt bun feet. The 4.25 inch white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and Arabic quarter hour markers, with gilt brass hands signed Le Sieur, Paris.
