A first half of the 19th century six-light boxwood-strung mahogany Vienna regulator six light weight driven The movement signed for the retailer/importer Baume a Geneve The angled cornice over three short and three long glazed rectangular panels to a concave moulded base. The 6.5 inch white enamel dial with painted Roman numerals, minute track and subsidiary seconds framed by a cast ormolu bezel of flowerheads and shells. The weight driven movement with tapered plates united by four cylindrical pillars, the four wheel train terminating in a deadbeat escapement to a wood rod pendulum suspended from the backboard. Signed along the lower edge of the movement Baume a Geneve. Sold together with a cylindrical brass weight (c.1lb 12ozs, 800gr), hung on a pulley of five tapering spokes, later winding key and pendulum. Overhauled in 2003 and at that time fitted with a new 'scape wheel (earlier one still retained). Unused for some time, dusty, and will need a service before running.
