Derived from Hindi and Gujararti, 'chabutra' means pigeon, and these towers serve as gathering spots for local bird life. They are typically found in villages of historic city squares, such as Gujarat and Rajasthan, where locals can access the top of the tower via stairs or ladders to leave seeds and fresh water for the birdlife to enjoy.
