ATT. JOHANN BAPTIST BEHA. A 19TH CENTURY BLACK FOREST EBONISED CUCKOO MANTEL CLOCK the arched case with moulded base and glazed door enclosing a 7 1/4" enamel dial with Roman numerals fronting a wooden plated double fusee eight day movement with cuckoo and gong hour striking.
48cm high
The movement is complete and looks to have been recently serviced. The movement ticks when wound. The cuckoo functions correctly when passing the hour. But it is out of sequence, striking the wrong hour. The clock has its pendulum and key. The case is in good condition, with no damage, apart from small knocks and defects to the veneer on top of the case. The enamel dial has a touched-up chip in one of the winding holes and has hairline cracks around the edges of the dial.
48cm high 32.5cm wide and 20cm deep.
