LUGER HOLSTER. 1 of only 1,005 total holsters produced at Rock Island Arsenal (1,000 mfg. 1902, 1 mfg. 1903, 1 mfg. 1904, 1 mfg. in 1906, and 1 mfg. in 1909) for the U.S. Test Trials Model 1900 Luger. Holster is constructed of brown russet leather, featuring a brass closure flap stud and 6 rivets for the belt loop. The closure flap is embossed with "US" within an oval, with an apparent "O.O." inspector proof marked towards the tip of the flap. Rear of holster is properly marked "ROCK ISLAND/ ARSENAL/ E.H.S." to the left of the belt loop. CONDITION: holster remains malleable, exhibiting varying degrees of age related cracking, with some scattered spots and small patches of light to mild crazing present overall. Brass fittings have acquired some spots of verdigris in protected areas. A seldom presented opportunity for the collector who owns a Model 1900 Test Trials Luger to acquire one of the original 1,005 holsters produced for their collection.
