Her work united the discipline of Scandinavian studio ceramics with references to Islamic, ancient Near Eastern and regional traditions. After studying at the American University of Beirut, Kazemi trained at the School of Art and Craft in Copenhagen, where she worked with Danish ceramicist Gutte Eriksen and absorbed ideas from Bernard Leach's studio pottery movement. Archaeological forms encountered during her work at Syrian excavation sites also informed her practice. Kazemi exhibited widely in Lebanon and Europe, with solo shows at Gallery One, Beirut; Compass Gallery, Glasgow; Contact Art Gallery, Beirut; the National Museum of Damascus; Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture, Ribérac; and Designmuseum Danmark. Her work has also featured in exhibitions at the Sursock Museum, the Lyon Biennial and MACAM, Alita, which held a retrospective in 2017. Her work is held in collections including Designmuseum Danmark, Sursock Museum, MACAM and the Dorothy Salhab Kazemi Museum in Roumieh.
