This is a celadon-glazed Cong-style vase from Longquan kiln. The shape of the vessel is modeled after the jade cong from the Liangzhu Culture of the Neolithic Age. It has a cylindrical structure with a square outside and a round inside. The bottom of the mouth is similar in size, and it is decorated with a round short neck and ring feet on the top and bottom. It perfectly interprets the ancient cosmology of "a round sky and a square earth".The four sides of the bottle are decorated with regular raised horizontal and vertical lines (also called back lines or convex ribs) using die-printing technology. The lines are undulating and orderly, full of rhythm and three-dimensionality. The whole body is covered with celadon glaze, the glaze color is warm and subtle, showing the typical pink or plum green tone of Longquan kiln. The glaze surface is as smooth as jade, the color of the accumulated glaze is deep, and the glaze is thin and slightly reveals the fetal bones at the raised ridges, forming a subtle contrast.The bottom foot is exposed and solid, and the edge of the unglazed ring foot is brownish red (commonly known as "cinnabar bottom"). There is an old wooden box attached to one side of the vessel. On the ink book label on the box, the words "No. 41" and "Peanuts in the hands of a blue porcelain cong" are faintly visible. There is a wooden board next to it engraved with "Aoji Hanaru". These are the circulation marks of old Japanese collections and prove its past as a flower arrangement tool.The overall shape is dignified and simple, perfectly integrating the solemnity of ancient ritual vessels with the elegant aesthetics of Song Dynasty literati. It reflects the superb molding skills and peak glaze firing level of Longquan kiln in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is a classic representative work of the Song Dynasty's antique style.
