(1910 - 1961) Waffen-SS officer who saw action in many major battles, including the invasion of France, Operation Barbarossa, and in Normandy. Awarded the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. Tried for war crimes and jailed for ten years. War date press photograph, 11.75 x 8 in. b/w, a pair of images, one being the famous photograph of Meyer barking out artillery orders during the taking of Greece, the other showing an SS man in a scout car reviewing the effect of the bombardment. The verso bears a press stamp and date stamp 'May 24 1941'. Some crazing and light crease in margins else very good.
