Description
Printed broadside, 1p. folio, Paris, January 1790, a royal proclamation issued by King Louis XVI on behalf of the National Assembly. Issued during the formative months of the French constitutional monarchy, the broadside announces that citizens are not permitted to perform civic and military duties simultaneously and that voters must swear obeisance to King. It also defines the title of ‘Municipal Officers’, establishes departmental districts, and so forth. Heavy folding with splitting at middle, significant staining at middle and margins, overall just good. Should be viewed.
